Company History

The Credit Bureau of Erie, Inc. is Erie's only local credit bureau and collection agency. We are one of the oldest and continuously operating credit bureaus in the United States, having been established in 1919. Present management has been in place since 1955, with the very capable assistance of 14 employees.

Our success over the years has been our ability to serve our clients with superior service. First and foremost, we are always attentive to our client's needs. We have well-trained and dedicated employees, which furthers our commitment to excellence.

In addition to serving hundreds of medical, dental, clinical, and hospital accounts, we also serve a number of other businesses such as banks, credit unions, finance companies, department stores, colleges, libraries, and insurance companies.

We recover well over $2,000,000 annually for our clients. All accounts are placed in our state-of-the-art collection system and auto-dialer. Any supporting data can be expertly designed to meet your specifications.

We use both mail and telephone contacts to effectively collect your accounts and the results we get are much higher than the National Recover Rate of 18%.

We place the debtor's collection account, with your permission, on their credit report. We pride ourselves on service to our customers and attention to every need.

• Credit Bureau is fully insured and bonded
  When money is collected it is transferred into a trust account and remitted to you monthly
• We can accept placement of your accounts by listing sheet (fax), e-mail, or modem-to-modem file transfer.
• We are a full service agency. We devote 100% of our efforts to collection.
